The Poetry of Rosemary Winters Tracey

The Poetry of Rosemary Winters Tracey

Recently I had the last of my teeth removed due to decay from diabetes, among other causes. It was very painful because all my teeth were infected along with parts of my jawbone. So I wrote a poem to express my feelings.

Requiem for a Teeth

Once upon a time I had teeth
They were old and cracked
But, they were mine
And had been for over 40 years

I mourn them.
Even though they were
Useless and dangerous
Because they were mine

I don’t have a headstone for them.
There is no grave to mark their passing.
Just my memories of them
Which are bittersweet.
